DEPRESSION AND LOW MOOD
Depression / Low Mood
We all go through ups and downs from time to time. Life doesn’t always unfold as we hope, and navigating challenges can be difficult. Feelings of sadness or being down are natural reactions to struggles, setbacks, and disappointments.
However, when feelings of hopelessness, emptiness, despair, and low motivation persist, they may indicate depression. Low mood can make even the simplest daily tasks feel overwhelming, and it can be hard to find joy in any activity or see a positive future. It affects people of all ages, races, and socio-economic backgrounds.
Research has shown that with CBT, treatment and recovery from depression is possible.
“Thank you for helping me climb out of the black hole I was in last year. And helping me to feel happy and relaxed in my work environment again. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to say I enjoy being myself, going to work and my life. It’s a good place to be.” – former client
Treatment for depression
Treatment for depression involves identifying negative thoughts and underlying beliefs about yourself, others, and life that contribute to low mood. In our sessions, we will explore these patterns and any unhelpful behaviours that accompany them. Together, we will develop a personalised plan and utilise therapeutic tools designed to shift long-held negative beliefs.
- As you gain self-awareness, many clients find that symptoms of depression begin to lift, leading to renewed feelings of hope, positivity, and an ability to enjoy life once again.

Deep Depression & Suicidal Thoughts
Depression is a significant risk factor for suicide. The profound despair and hopelessness that often accompany depression can, for some, make suicide seem like the only way to escape the pain. In this mode thoughts are bleak and there’s no access to hope. However, suicide is far a from simple equation and help is always available.
It has been my greatest honour to assist those suffering from suicidal despair to overcome their depression and to make a full recovery. Finding joy in life and in relationships again and to guide their rediscovery of who they are, once freed from the damaging and constrictive jail of negative self-attacking beliefs and persistent unhelpful behavioural patterns.
